My Resolutions: Resolution Nine.

Resolution Nine: Resolved: To think much, on all occasions, about my own dying, and of the common things which are involved with and surround death.” ― Jonathan Edwards.

Scriptures:

“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” ― Mark 8:36, NKJV.

“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” ― Hebrews 9:27-28, NKJV

My Resolution:

"Resolved: Never to be so absolved with life that I forget death. Nor be so carried away with death that I forget life.” ― St. Akin de Sage.

Death is the birth of life. Life and Death are the "yin and yang" of nature. One cannot do without the other. One leads to the other. Until we die, we cannot truly live. For us to truly live we have to die.
“By living each day as if it could be our last, we relate to each life experience passionately, powerfully, and memorably.” ― Rabbi Boruch Leff.

"Whoever wants to live, must make himself dead." ― Tamid 32a.

"If a philosophy of life cannot help me to die, then in a sense it cannot help me to live." ― Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones.

"For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one." ― Kahlil Gibran.

The way up is the way down. The way to life is the way to die. I choose to die so that I might live. I die daily, so I might live daily.

I am not afraid of death. I am already dead.

This is my resolve. So, help me, God.

St. Akin de Sage.
