First Things First.

“The older I get the more wisdom I find in the ancient rule of taking first things first. A process which often reduces the most complex human problem to a manageable proportion.” ― Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Welcome to the month of September. September, of every year, I get the privilege of freelancing with introspective quotes. This year will be no different. Trusting you’ll be blessed. Tighten your seat belt and let’s go for it. Your life will never be the same, again.

First things first, isn’t that rather sage. That is the third of Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, the crowning of the internal wars. What does “first things first” portend to you? The English construction points to a focus on the most important things.

That seems to point to a “majoring in the majors, and minoring in the minors,” getting the most out of our hustle. Who won’t want that? 80% of the things that moves your life forward are caused by 20% of the things you do. Do you know your 20%? Are your prioritizing your 20%, or you are lost in the rat race?

Rise above. You are no rat. You are a full blown living soul. Be!
