Financial Plan for Success (Part Four): Have a Budget, Respect, and Live by It.

A budget is a Plan of Action:

The time to put a budget together is not when you get the money, or after you have spent it. A budget is not a record of expenditure, nor is it a meter of or for your emotions. A budget is a plan. It is a statement of who you are and all you stand for. It is not a reaction. It is a response from your higher self. It is the rudder of your life's ship, directing and propelling you towards the future you have designed for yourself.

In parts 1-3, we have discussed the givens that must be on your budget. Those are what we can boundary conditions. If you don't get those right you might as well stop reading this. This will not work if your reference coordinates, our givens, are not in place. The reference coordinates make this possible. So, though parts 1-3 must be on your budget, they are the nonnegotiables. 

A Budget is not Cast in Concrete:

This is what the accountants take live for - balancing of accounts. Your Credit MUST equal your Debit...no cone go about it, You have to plan for ALL the money, and NOT spend money you don't have. "Your budget must balance! You are not Congress!" (Dave Ramsey) Congress can have the mint print money. You can't. Respect yourself and your future.

Your budget MUST balance. All income MUST be accounted for and planned for. If you don't account and plan for it, you'll be deceived thinking you won a jackpot. I guess what happens to those who will jackpots? They lose their senses, and their poverty mentality gets the better of them. They lose the money, for money finds them unworthy. The secret to being worthy is having and respecting your budget.

A Steward:

You must account for all the money that comes into or through your hands and plan for every single one. You are a steward. It is required of you, as a steward, to be faithful. Faithful in accounting for every single unit of money that comes in and goes out, Faithful to plan before it comes. Faithful to execute the plan after the money comes.

Only when you are faithful with that in your hands today will more be entrusted into your hands tomorrow. God will not give you more if you cannot account for or be faithful in that which you have today. Your budget is the system by which you program yourself to fruitfulness. It is a way of bringing order into your life.
