"Self-examination is the high road to prayer." ― Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones.
{Ever hear me say, "I love my puritans?" Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, reasonably, stands head and shoulders above all others. I have been immensely blessed by his teachings. It sure gives me an anchor in the midst of all the emotional messages that tend to fly around the pentecostal and charismatic circuit (or should I say circus).}
Without knowledge of self, there is no knowledge of God. Without an appreciation of how dear I need the Holy, I'll tend to treat it with levity. No wonder the scriptures tell us, "it is the fool who says in his heart there is no God."
It takes being foolish not to be able to see divinity in creation. It takes being blind to think we are the highest intelligence level in the universe and not bowing to Supreme (Infinite) Intelligence. Any sane person knows there has got to be more.
I sure hope you are not a fool. I sure hope you are coming to the Father in the place of prayers. I sure hope you know you are nothing on your own. You need a Father. You need a Saviour. You need a friend who is closer than a brother.
Will you come today to the throne of grace to obtain grace, mercy, and favor. In the Father's presence is fullness of joy, and at His right-hand pleasures forevermore.
