You would suppose this is a no-brainer, yet how surprising to know a lot of us do fall short of this. One, we fail to understand business transactions are done with people, not organizations or positions. That organization or position gets to be represented by a person, not a robot.
Stop showing me how stupid you are by saying, "'Tis just business, no hard feelings." It is not just business. It is you. You are the face of the business, and you are response-able (otherwise known and called responsible). You are no robot, nor tree. You are the face of the business.
You can be guaranteed there will be hard feelings if you don't treat me right. I'll only stay until I find an alternative. Once I discover one, I'm long gone. Why? No relationship. Nothing connecting us together.
So, let me serve you back your own bitter pill. "No hard feelings. 'Tis just business." Do you like the sound of it? I know you don't. Do you know why? It is because you are human just like me. Humans need and seek connection.
Feed the hunger and you have an evangelist for your product. Note this applies universally, including in the church. It does not fail to amaze me how and why Pastors are too much in a hurry to seek appreciation when they have not appreciated their flock.
A Pastor that does his or her job needs not to ask for appreciation. It is automatic. It also falls under the law of sowing and reaping. When foolish pastors start beating their flocks to appreciate them, you know there is a failure in human relationships. A hireling is holding the microphone. Can someone get him or her off the stage, please.
When we understand the way God has set things in motion, we will not need to struggle. Everything in its own place, time, and season.
