Faith is...

"Playing it safe is the riskiest choice we can ever make." – Sarah Ban Breathnach.

Ever wondered what it means for the just to live by faith? What has that got to do with safety? What has that got to do with being too careful? What has that not to do with stepping out and proofing (not tempting) your God.

The words of Abraham's servants ever continually ring in my mind, "while I was on the way, the Lord led me." Note what he did not say. He did not say, "while I was praying, the Lord led me." Can God lead you while praying? O yes, he can. The servant prayed also but had not heard from God.

That did not freeze him. He walked in what he already knows of God while waiting for more. What do we do? We forget what we already know. We disregard what He has already revealed to us. And, we are all about looking for new revelation(s). Are we any different from the Athenians? Ever learning, but never growing. All motions, but no movement.

No, not a man that well-schooled in the house (church, discipleship class) of Abraham. He understood faith is action. The evidence of faith is action. Faith that cannot get you off your butt to do something is not faith. It can be any other thing, but indeed not faith.

Faith steps out. Faith pushes. Faith is undaunting. Faith proofs God in all good things. Faith does not play it safe. Faith plays it God, and God is always good.
