'Got it Together |
Keeping the House:
Nothing just happens. Never forget that till your dying day. It will save your life. It will win you, friends. It will give you an entrance into your destiny, your heaven here on earth, and that which is to come.
Last time we spoke about the importance of having boundaries. I am of the thought you have no questions from that time together. Otherwise, I guess I would have seen your questions. Well, in case you did not know, this is a communication channel.
Feel free to ask questions on anything I share that you don't understand or need further expatiation on. Feel free to ask any question for as long it is one you need clarification on. I have awesome and beautiful uncles and aunties all around me who will chime in from time to time to provide even further explanations.
For those who don't know me well enough, I am a child of God. That is my one and only qualification and the source from which I draw. Not sure if that is enough for you, but that is all I have to offer.
Now unto today's topic. Be Humble.
I am Humble:
What is humility? What does it mean to be humble?
The dictionary simply defines it as "having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's importance." The classic definition we use in most teachings is that offered by C. S. Lewis. He says, “Humility is not thinking less of yourself. It's thinking of yourself less.”
In essence, it is getting off your high horse. It is shutting down that deceptive, instinctive thought that tells you, "you are the center of the universe." Dearly beloved may I submit to you, and may it be forever stored in an active cell in your brain,
"You are not the center of the universe - be it God's, your parents, your whatsoever, and hopefully yours also."
Low Hanging Fruits:
If you get this right, it will save you from depression and many anxiety disorders, mental illness, which is on the rise and plagues so many people today. Take a guess at the percentage of people suffering from those twin demons today?
In the United States, almost half of adults (46.4 percent) will experience a mental illness during their lifetime. 18 percent of adults (18 or older) experience a mental illness in any one year, equivalent to 43.8 million people.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 13 globally suffers from anxiety. The WHO reports that anxiety disorders are the most common mental disorders worldwide, with specific phobia, major depressive disorder, and social phobia being the most common anxiety disorders.
Depression is also the major contributor to suicide deaths, which number close to 800 000 per year. (as of 2015)
I hope I succeeded in scaring you. Now let us say the benediction.

Meek and Lowly at Heart:
You see just how much just simply being humble will save you. Humility has a twin brother, known and called meekness. In fact, people get to miss them up quite often. They are identical twins. They bear a similar relationship to one another as "grace and mercy" does.

So, what does it mean to be meek? The dictionary defines it as the quality of being "quiet, gentle, and easily imposed on; submissive." In general, we can see it as one who does not resist; one who is amenable, who is easily entreated, who will quickly adjust to the prevailing wind.
The critical thing to note is one who is meek does all these by choice, not compulsion. Such a person is one with all it takes to do otherwise but chooses to go with the flow. That is why it is typically defined as "one with power under control."
One who complies because there are no other options is not considered as being meek. Rather, such a person has been humbled. The difference is with where the locus of control is. For humility and meekness, the locus of control is residence within the individual.
Interlude:
I am going to stop here for now. I need to respect your attention span. We'll pick up from here next time around. So, go over the various terms we mentioned. Let know if there are question from these. And we'll decide on the best way to address your issues.
Thanks for your time. Hope this helps you. Let me know. I really don't have to do it. I only do it because I think someone out there needs it. Feel free to let me know if I am wrong.
You know I love you. Keep occupying. Keep reigning. You have the mandate.
