I Can Have Money |
"The wise are honored for their wealth; the reward of fools is more foolishness." (Proverbs 14:24, VOICE)Money does not easily yield itself. Just as much as the word talks about the kingdom of God so is money. To have it one has to seek it. There, however, are defined ways of seeking for it, outside of which one might seek amiss.
Much like a man seeking after a woman, you don’t go headlong. You need to understand that money should never be sought just for the sake of money itself, but for the good that can be done with it. When one seeks money headlong one gets intoxicated by it. And, that is not the place you want to be. That is what the bible says is the root of all evil. For money might be a good servant, but sure is a terrible master.
One of two things can happen when you choose to go headlong. One, you never achieve your aim, for money has wings. You work like an elephant, but only get the reward of an ant. You stay perpetually in the rat race. You get into a situation of always seeking, but never finding. I’m sure you know a lot of people like this. You wonder with all they do, why are they not prospering? The simple answer is they are going about it the wrong way. It has nothing to do with their star, the place they were born, or the economy where they live.
The second thing that can happen when you choose to go headlong after money is that you get it the wrong way. You steal it, defraud people, or sell your conscience in some way or fashion. You seemingly get riches but lose your conscience. You seemingly get money, but lose your name, and risk going to jail. You get temporal satisfaction at the expense of longer-lasting one extending into eternity.
The way to seek after money is to “sweep it off its feet,” the same way a young man will “sweep a lady off her feet.” You have to show the money that you are worthy of it. So Jesus puts it this way,
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then all these things will be given to you too.“ (Matthew 6:33, VOICE)Now, this is my rendition of this verse,
“Be the person that can attract all that you want, and all that you want will come to you.” (The Street Translation – TST)Life is all about being, not about doing. That is why we are called, HUMAN BEINGS, not HUMAN DOINGS.
So, the questions to ask include,
- What kind of a person do I have to become to attract all that I want?
- What kind of a person am I today?
- What things have the person I am attracted to?
- Which areas of my life do I need to start changing and/or working on?
Longing to hear your testimony.
