"Zakar" God's Name |
So, Jesus asked the disciples, “And do you not remember?” (Mark 8:18c, NKJV) He expected them not to be quick to forget God’s mighty works, like the Israelites in the wilderness. For there is ALWAYS handwriting on the wall from every one of His works. That is what produces faith. That is what changes our world. If He did it yesterday, He will do it today, and yet greater works tomorrow. David understood this. His faith to bring down Goliath sat on his calling to memory the deliverance of God in the years prior.
"Remember, your only limitation is the one that you set-up in your own mind." - Napoleon Hill.
He determined what was going to control him. He determined what he was going to celebrate. He determined what he was going to extol. He determined what he was going to give power to. And, that changed his world.
"Remember happiness doesn’t depend upon who you are or what you have; it depends solely on what you think." - Dale Carnegie. For as long as Peter was looking at Jesus, he was able to walk on water. He only began to sink when he started looking at the wrong picture. He began to sink when he started celebrating the wrong things. What he gave the power to had power over him. We determine, by our thoughts and confession, what has the power over us. And, the present and future we are bringing to birth.
"Remember the past with gratitude. Live the present with enthusiasm. Look forward to the future with confidence." (Saint John Paul II)What are you remembering? What are you allowing to have control, pre-eminence over you? You got the controls. What are you doing with it?
