In the Beginning God

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1, NKJV)

“In the beginning God:” These words mean a lot to me as a person, and I guess to a great many others as well. I can still remember some four (4) decades ago, as I sat musing at my lesson teacher’s (Ms. Thelema’s) house. (Now, I can understand where my last daughter got her deep thinking.) My infantile mind kept digging at the question where did God come from? Who gave birth to God? If ever anyone gave birth to God, who gave birth to the person who gave birth to God, and so on?

My inability to get an answer typically saddened me, so much so I was unable to eat my lunch. No wonder scientist, unable to answer the same question, cook up different postulations. Every one of such, through the ages, have since been shown to either have no legs, or at best false, man-made, legs to seemingly stand on. So, when truly is the beginning of life? When truly is the beginning of time? Where did everything start? Where did everything come from?

The answers to these questions are actually outside the realm of the human mind and comprehension. More like it is outside the capacity of our eyesight to see the wind, but yet we know it is there by its effect. We know the truth about God instinctively; God has put this knowledge in our hearts. Since earliest times we have seen the earth and sky and all God made, and have known of his existence and great eternal power. We are without excuse. [Romans 1:19-20]

Our ability to accept this knowledge is known as faith - it is the explanation of the things which we know are, but are beyond our human comprehension. We know the things that cannot be known with the human mind by faith. We see the invisible by faith. We know it is there because we see the effect plainly. We understand it by faith; trust in the one who was there from the very beginning.
“By faith—by believing God—we know that the world and the stars—in fact, all things—were made at God’s command; and that they were all made from things that can’t be seen.” (Hebrews 11:3, TLB)
In the beginning, God! He is the beginning of all things. NOTHING comes before Him. He is the Alpha and Omega - Nothing before Him; Nothing after Him. I'm glad to be associated with Him who is above and beyond time. I'm save in His loving hands. He is NEVER late. He is NEVER early. He is ALWAYS on time. Even time bows to Him.
