Questions and Answers (Twenty Six): Wrong Man

QUESTION:
Surely, God does repair and fixes. So, how does God fix a situation where you married the "wrong man"? Does He still make you feel that you married the wrong guy? Or, does He turn things around and make it seem like you married the right guy? Or, does He do something else entirely?

ANSWER:
A wrong man can always become the right man if both parties are willing to work on the relationship. No relationship is not repairable. The onus is always on the couple. They have to be willing.

QUESTION:
How can one define "wrong man" anyway, I wonder?

ANSWER:
Good question. I think a wrong man or woman is unwilling to bend in working out a successful and happy relationship with his or her spouse. Such a person is set in their ways and unwilling to make the sacrifice necessary in making a relationship work. Such is one too full (fool) of themself.

Zig Ziglar puts it like this,
"I have no way of knowing whether or not you married the wrong person,
But I do know that many people have a lot of wrong ideas about marriage and what it takes to make that marriage happy and successful.
I'll be the first to admit that it's possible that you did marry the wrong person.
However, if you treat the wrong person like the right person, you could well end up having married the right person after all.
On the other hand, if you marry the right person, and treat that person wrong, you certainly will have ended up marrying the wrong person.
I also know that it is far more important to be the right person than it is to marry the right person.
In short, whether you married the right or wrong person is primarily up to you."

Are you treating your spouse right? Are you the right person, the right spouse in your marriage? The onus of making your marriage rich and rewarding rests on you. What are you doing about it?
