Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
Meditation:
Faith is to the soul what life is to the body. Prayer is to faith what breath is to the body. How a person can live and not breathe is past my comprehension, and how a person can believe and not pray is past my comprehension too. (J. C. Ryle)Lord, deliver me from me. Help me know you are the only reason I come, not because of who I am, but because of whose I am. May my confidence ever rest on all you have done for me, not what I have done for you. Help my heart never to lose its way home.

Prayer: Lord, help me never forget the source of my life, my joy, my wealth, my strength, and my all. May I never get to a place or station in life where I begin to think I can do it on my own. My essential sustenance is of and in you, my Lord, and my God.
