QUESTION:

How can you pray for marriage, and what, and what are you to pray?

ANSWER:

That is a big question. It will require writing a whole book to truly and fully answer your question. And, there are books that have been written in this wise. Stormie Omartian has written a book titled, “The Power of a Praying Wife.” And, there are probably many others out there.

Let me attempt to get you started with a few pointers. Prayer, like you know, is bringing heaven's resources to bear upon the earth. It is bringing God's hands upon our own hand to overcome our human limitations. So, when it comes to marriage one of the chief things you need is a heart of understanding. (Remember, that was what Solomon asked for.)

If this is all you ever pray for in you and your spouse, your marriage WILL BE SUCCESSFUL AND FULFILLING. Not having this is why many marriages are in disarray. The people still love themselves, but they don't know how to live together. In my native language, this is one of the chief two prayers elders make for married people. They say,

"May God make you two understand each other, and be each other's friend till the end."
