Don’t complain about getting old – many, many people do not have that privilege. (Earl Warren)The scriptures call it “the lust of other things.” [Mark 4:19] Otherwise, known as covetousness, which is idolatry. [Colossians 3:5] The young want to be old, just as much as the old want to be young. The fat wants to be thin, just as much as the thin want to be fat. And, the list goes on. So, what, or how do we then define what a blessing is? No wonder a lot of people are unhappy and live below the fullness of what they are meant to achieve and accomplish.
The simple truth is “Everything in life is a blessing.” Yes, I did not miss words, EVERYTHING! The scriptures tell us ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD. [Romans 8:28] Napoleon Hill puts it like this, “Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” The challenge is acknowledging, appreciating and accessing the seed. That is where a lot of us miss it. We focus on the challenge, not the seed and fruit it produces.
Life is simple. Everything happens for you, not to you. (Byron Katie)
Everything happens for a reason and a purpose, and it serves you. (Tony Robbins)
God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well. (Voltaire)So, whatever happens, wherever you might find yourself, or are today, “Stop!” Breathe in. Breathe out. Listen to the sound of the birds. Appreciate the beautiful works of God. Thank Him for the gift of life. Thank Him for the today of your life. Thank Him for all you have been graced with, “both those that you like and those you don’t like.”
Appreciate the things you do like. Ask for wisdom and strength to work on the things you do not like. And, while you are there, appreciate the very privilege that you have something to work on. For, there in is your life. There in is your victory. There in is your calling. There in is your praise. EVERYTHING HAPPENS for you, not to you, or against you. All you need do is tap into the benefit there in. It’s all in your hands.
