Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Meditation:
Whenever man attempts to do what he knows to be the Master's will, a power will be given him equal to the duty. (Fulton J. Sheen)
Our competence comes from God. He is the reason why we do what we do. He is the reason why we are able to do what we do. He is the focus of what we do. There is more than sufficient grace to do all and everything He has ordained us to do. [Philippians 4:13] We are not called to do everything, nor to just do things for the sake of the things. God has to always be and remain ever the focus. It is not in the things, but in the God who causeth us to do them, and whose glory we choose to project.

Prayer: Lord, teach me to rest in you. Ingrained deep in me it is not about me. It is all about you and your purpose.
