But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

Meditation:
Identity is deposited, authority is delegated, and courage is learned…. Our desire as children of God should be to seek a history that has been healed, an identity that has been sealed, and a destiny that has been revealed. (Carlos A. Rodriguez)In this parable, the first son is a person of depth and substance, the second shallow and light – easily swayed in any direction. The first is either hot or cold, the second lukewarm. The first is either an all-in, or an all-out person, the second was neither here, nor there. For him anything goes.
The first has his brains switched on, the other with brains switched off. The first counts the cost before committing, the second commits before considering the cost. The first is wise, the second foolish. The first is with definite and defined boundaries. The second is opened to all, with him anything goes.
Which son or daughter are you? Which son are you showing yourself to be in your present situation? Will you (are you) making Him proud? Or, are you letting Him down? Can God count on you? Can God boast about you? [Job 1:8]
