Devotional Tea 5: Made by Fire

Scripture: Psalm 4:1 (TLB)

O God, you have declared me perfect in your eyes; you have always cared for me in my distress; now hear me as I call again. Have mercy on me. Hear my prayer.

Meditation:

"The imprisoning experience becomes the minister of strong and healthy growth." — John Henry Jewett.

Nothing just happens. If God allows life to happen to us, it means He believes we can handle it and come out a much better person. Life never comes to kill us. Rather, it comes to sift out the impurities in our lives and make us whole. The things that can be shaken are taken away, and the sure things, with sure foundations, are left to stay. To quote Napoleon Hill, "Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit." Our place is to stay faithful through it all so that the seed of the benefit can come to fruition in our life.

Prayer: Lord, help me carry the cross that is my own. Not another's, neither less or more. Make me. Make me thine and thine alone.
