Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Meditation:
It is the voice of Christ that wakens the dead soul. Jesus speaks through the Bible, through ministers, through providences. His voice can reach the dead. He quickeneth whom He will. They that hear, live. (Robert Murray McCheyne)I have heard His voice. And, I continually long for His voice every day. For yesterday’s manna will not do. His voice has given me life. His voice has changed me forever; is continually changing me, and will bring me to the fullness of the stature of Christ. Are you hearing His voice? Are you hearing His voice today?
Just how many of us have missed (and are still missing) God’s gentle tuck in our spirits. We get so focused on the mighty shakings; we get so carried away by the seeming phenomena that we miss God’s tender, gentle, loving still small voice in our hearts. We are so carried away by what other people have to say, or think, that we fail to heed His bidding. He doesn’t always come in the "old time religion.” He doesn’t always come in the mighty shakings. He has come to abode in/with you. Listen to the still small voice within. God speaks to you, even you
Prayer: Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. (Psalm 143:8, KJV) Lord, cause me to yearn for your voice each and everyday. May Your voice ever be my place of rest and refuge.
