Choose Life (Part One): We Are Response-able Beings.

All in Your Hands
Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:5-6, NKJV)
We start this week with the story of the sick man healed at the Pool of Bethesda. [John 5:1-15]. The sick man had one of the lamest (and saddest) excuses people often have to sell for their predicament. He said, “I have no one to help me” (and you can find that in several iterations, all with the same import). Worse still, such say it with a measure of entitlement, thinking they are justified.

What an excuse from the pit of hell? What a grand plan by the enemy to keep people forever imprisoned? What a plan to keep them living less than their potential, to keep them below their divinely ordained height. Such has even coined words like the phantom "destiny helpers," all in a bid to spirituality their ineptness.

Our destiny is in no one’s hands but ours! God put all we will ever need to fulfill our destiny inside us, not in someone else. [Genesis 1:28] He did not put it in our pastor, our imam, our bishop, or our whatever. He put it in us! Why? He did so to leave us without any excuse. We are divinely endowed to fulfill a purpose. It is time to get off our butt and start moving, moving in the direction of our destiny.
"Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”" (Genesis 1:28, NKJV)
God’s ever-present platform is, “…I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days….”(Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
"In every moment of choice, you create a new destiny." (Kevin Michel)
Will you choose life today? Will you tell Jesus you want to be made well? The ball is in your court. How are you going to play?
